Entrez-vous!

It has officially been like 6 months since I wrote a blog entry. Whoops. It's hard to find time to get crafty and post about it on the internet when you get a dog and this becomes your life;

Mom, play with me!!

Little baby Lyla has finally settled into a normal routine though, so I can get back to doing a lot of the things I was doing before we got her. Like decorating! Such a good way to keep busy when it's cold outside.
So, onto my topic of the day...

Good ol' apartment living. As soon as you walk in the door, you're in the middle of the living room. What's one to do without a foyer? I suppose you could throw down a welcome mat and call it a day, but isn't that a little boring? Here's what I decided to do next to the front door;

I got this entryway table from work for $16! Can you believe it?
It's great because it has room for a lot of storage.
All I need to do is add a few baskets to the shelves!

Mermaid was $12.99 at Ross (I couldn't resist), candle was a gift from my mother in law,
and all the shells came from our Florida vacation 2 years ago.

Picture frame was a gift from my mom (forgot to put a photo in it, oops.)
the flowers are fake from Michaels for something like $1.49 each,
and the bowl I actually made with flour and salt and painted with a metallic paint.
I figured we can use it as a little catch-all for keys and spare change and stuff!

This is a little montage I made awhile back as a Florida memory. The lyrics read
"Like a shell upon a beach, just another pretty piece. I was difficult to see, but you picked me.",
the photo is of us on vacation, and the shells all came from the beaches of Sanibel Island. :)

That's all I have for you today. Thanks for looking, and happy decorating!

I went garage sale-ing and all I got was this lousy board game.

Garage sale season is always met with excitement and joy from crafters and DIYers alike. I went out yesterday with Jon looking for a few random furniture and decor pieces, but unfortunately did not find what I was looking for. My adventure also got cut short by a June rain storm. :(

The one thing I did find that I have been searching for at thrift stores for a few months now is Scrabble. And here's why;

Scrabble magnets! How fun! I've been wanting to do this project for awhile now because I knew it would be cheap, easy, and entertaining. I figured we can leave each other little messages, or make a shopping list, or actually play Scrabble even though Jon always has and always will beat me because he's a word genius.

I picked up the board game for $1, and found a 10' roll of adhesive magnet tape at Hobby Lobby for $2.99. That means this little DIY project only costed me $4, and I have a feeling it will bring my apartment a lot of laughs. :)

Happy garage sale-ing!

Finally blogging (and sharing thrift store finds!)

Hi there! After bringing home some adorable thrifted knick-knacks today, I was thinking that it's about time I start a blog. I do so many crafty DIY things that I'm kind of silly for not starting one a long time ago. So here it is! I'm thinking it'll be pretty craft and thrift-centric, with little flashes of fashion, beauty, and home decor. The name of my blog "Robbie-Doll" is a nickname that was given to me by my mom when I was little. I still love it when my loved ones call me Robbie because it's very sentimental for me.

I'll keep this post pretty short since I don't have much to talk about, but I do want to share some photos really quick before I go. Jon (my boyfriend) and I just moved into a new apartment and I'm going a little crazy with the decorating. We both really like animals so I picked up a few animal figurines today for less than $5 a piece at Savers. Cute!

Ceramic elephant for Jon's bedside table. $2.99

Pretty little ceramic pup for my bedside table. $1.99

Floral piggy. Don't know where she's going yet, but I couldn't pass it up for some reason! $5.99

I wouldn't usually grab stuff like this, but the black & white one looks exactly like Jon's family dog Lucy that they lost last year, and the orange & white one looks exactly like my family dog Monkey that we lost about 3 years ago. I thought it would be nice to have little versions of them in our apartment so we can keep our memories alive. $2.99 each.

That's it for me for today!! Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more. I have a feeling I'm going to be a blogging machine. Haha. :)

Love and puppies!
